Northumberland County provides weekly curbside pickup of household recycling and garbage. There is no charge for recycling, but limits and fees are in place for garbage collection.

Effective March 1, garbage bag tags will increase by 50 cents to $4.25 each. Scroll to our Frequently Asked Questions section on Northumberland County's website Garbage page to learn more about the reasons for this increase, and how Northumberland’s partial user-pay system is contributing to the goal of 75% waste diversion from our landfill.
Sellers may charge a handling fee of no more than 10%
