Cemeteries

The Township of Alnwick/Haldimand operates and maintains many active and inactive cemeteries within the Township. The Township is committed to preserving the historical significance of its ten municipal cemeteries, including four active cemeteries and six inactive heritage cemeteries. These cemeteries are open to the public daily from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. providing places for remembrance, reflection, and appreciation of the Township’s heritage. In addition to the municipal cemeteries, many privately owned cemeteries are located throughout the Township.

Visitors are welcome to the cemeteries, but are asked to take great care and not, in any way, interfere with the stones. Please appreciate that the text on the stones is weathered and difficult to read. Many stones cannot be found or have broken beyond recognition.
