Building Department Updates
· The Township’s Building Department is excited to announce the launch of a new online portal that allows applicants to submit building permit applications from virtually anywhere. Applications, construction plans, and associated schedules can now be uploaded directly to our new PSDCitywide server to begin the application process. Contact the Building Department at 905-349-2822, Ext. 29 for more information on this exciting new option!

Fire Department Updates
· Volunteer firefighters in the Township use their personal vehicles to respond to emergency calls. These vehicles may display flashing green lights to alert other drivers they are en route to an emergency. When possible, please allow these vehicles to pass to help ensure a quicker response time.
· Residents are encouraged to keep fire hydrants on or near their property clear of snow at all times. Keeping hydrants visible and accessible helps emergency services respond quickly when every second counts.
Recreation Department Updates
· Ice Rentals are still available at the Haldimand Community Memorial Arena through to the end of March. Secure your ice time by completing a Facility Booking Request Form before the end of the season.

Finance Department Updates
· Tax bills will be mailed to residents through Canada Post on or before February 4, 2026. The first installment is due on February 25, 2026, with the second installment due on April 23, 2026.
Clerk’s Department Updates
· Township Offices will be closed February 16, 2025, for Family Day.
· Township is currently seeking volunteers to join the Heritage Alnwick/Haldimand Advisory Committee and Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. If you’re interested in local heritage or community recreation, we encourage you to apply here:

Public Works Department Updates
· Winter weather is here! Public Works crews are working hard to keep roads safe and clear during snow events. Residents are reminded to keep a safe distance from snowplows while driving. Please use caution when travelling in winter conditions and thank you for your patience and cooperation as crews work to keep or community moving safely.
